Sewing Apron Giveaway!

Back in the day when I used to design costumes for theater, I worked with Claudia Echols of Not the Norm. She sewed some of the more difficult designs for me, so I came to trust her work and knew that the project would come back perfect - and in theater, that's a rarity! Recently I called her up to find out what she was up to these days. Turns out she is now selling kits and manufacturing sewing aprons, and she brought me one!

This apron sells for $65 on her website:!store
and looks to be very practical and sturdy. The top pocket flap has built in space for straight pins and sewing needles:

Open the magnetized flap to reveal more pockets and slots for your sewing tools:

All the bigger things like scissors will easily fit in the lower pockets.

Wouldn't you like to have one of these to carry around all of your sewing tools! September is national Sewing Month, so it seems a good time to give this apron away to one lucky winner on Labor Day, Sept. 3rd. If this fabulous apron is something you will make good use of, all you need do is make a convincing comment below. PLEASE make sure I can contact you by email, and that it's an email you actually use. Sorry, but because of the high cost of shipping, this giveaway is open to US residents only.

UPDATE: Sept 5, 2012: Thank you to everyone that entered this giveaway. Congratulations to our winner, Kristie!

  1. Oh my, how cool is this? And it is an apron, so I could unpick things and have all my tools right there. And hopefully I wouldn't end up covered in thread. I adore the idea of the pocket for everything to go in it, as I am always loosing my seam ripper or a seam gauge. Awesome giveaway!

  2. Oh, this is fabulous. I try to sew with eight kids around, so I'm constantly either setting things down out of their reach, or they are walking off with things. What a great way to keep everything corralled and under control!

  3. Oh, this apron is both beautiful and functional! I would appreciate something like this very much as is it would be perfect for holding all my tools when I'm fitting and pinning my clients. Love it! Thanks Laura for offering the opportunity to win this beautiful apron.

  4. This is an adorable way to keep me from chasing around trying to find my glasses, scissors, etc. It is also the answer to being able to work with my arthritis! Everything in one place that I can easily reach in to~I would sincerely appreciate a chance to win this beautiful, useful and much needed apron! Thanks for the opportunity. Pat

  5. This is such a wonderful apron!! It would save me so much time when I have to go up and downstairs. I use the dining table as my cutting table and I have to carry everything with me. I don't mind the exercise, but, I don't want to drop anything on my fur baby.

This would make life so much easier.

    Thanks for the giveaway :-)

  6. since i have a newborn and am pretty asleep deprived, this apron would greatly help me keep my tools organized and help me jump back into sewing!
